MENTAL HEALTH DURING A PANDEMIC: THE SILVER LINING
From quarantines and fear of infection to social isolation from our friends and loved ones, this year has taken a toll on our mental well-being. Still, there are three bright spots that members feel are really positive COVID-prompted changes – and they hope are here to stay :
1. A general awareness, education and vigilance when it comes to hygiene measures; the need to stay connected and communicating has sparked rewarding new traditions, like gathering for evening meals and keeping in touch more regularly (via Zoom or FaceTime) with loved ones. Many VP members have been pleasantly surprised to see neighbors, who used to be vague acquaintances, actively supporting & helping others in the community.
2. Social distancing and good hygiene habits – Now that masks are the ‘law of the land’ and hand sani dispensers are at the corner of every aisle, a welcome change for many is the 6 ft.+ distancing rule; it has offered significant relief to those who have anxiety in public places or concerns about social interaction with strangers
3. Working remotely – For those fortunate enough to be ‘non-essential’ workers, the ability to work from home has created the opportunity to be more aware and attentive to other family members’ mental health needs and has reduced individual stress levels about exposure concerns at the office.

Hi,
Music, cooking, reading books, gardening are my remedy to cope up with the Covid stress.
These products seem great! I have seen evidence that this pandemic has made many stressful and depressing problems. I have to include myself in the narrative, not being able to fully live life freely and not have to worry about getting sick and possibly dying is and can be horrific. These products can help some people get a good nights sleep, or go through the day with a sense of calm. Kudos!
I suppose this isn’t one product but I was checking my credit scores on creditkarma.com and learned they have (free) links for finding local assistance in sectors other than finance. This article reminded me there is an entire section dedicated to mental health including direct links to apply for financial assistance if necessary.
I would love to use the Calm app but we cannot afford it.
It’s so important to be able to find help for mental health during this time.
That is a good tip particularly to those new to the blogosphere. Simple but very accurate infoÖ Thanks for sharing this one. A must read post!
This is one awesome article.Really thank you! Will read on…
