Cheap and Easy Foot Scrub

Category: Health & Beauty
For a cheap & easy foot scrub, mix vaseline & granulated sugar together. Soak feet in warm soapy water for about 20 minutes. Pat dry. Rub the sugar mixture over feet to slough off dry & dead skin. Rinse feet in soapy water & dry. Follow up with your favorite lotion. Your feet will feel the softest & smoothest ever!

Love this! Has anyone tried adding olive oil and vaseline? Do they mix well? I love OO and think I'd love to use it, but I love the idea of the vas. too! :)

I use Bath & Body Works massage oil from the Aromatherapy line, mix with sugar, and the result is a scrub that smells GREAT!  I never thought about Vaseline though...the thicker mixture sounds like a good idea for the feet.

If you want an easy, inexpensive gift mix sugar with the Bath and Body Works lotion of your preference then put it in a cute container--I gave it to friends in a basket with some aloe socks for Christmas last year. Love the "Peppermint Twist" holiday lotion.  1 bottle mixed with almost 5 pounds of sugar for plenty of gifts!

I do the sugar thing for the hands ... once a week. Except for these changes.  1 teaspoon sugar, 1 small squirt of antibacterial hand cleanser no water (yet) rub hands together until sugar is dissolved. Rinse then while hands are still damp  a dab of vaseline. Make sure you rub into your cuticles to loosen and remove them.

Oh boy, that sounds wonderful!  I have used vaseline forever.  It does soften the skin.  I am convinced it prevents wrinkles, just as co co butter does.

I will need to try this.  I love a good sugar scrub. Especially on my elbows and feet to get the rough places smooth.

I do this also.  My daughter always steals my shaving gel and conditioner works very well and is usually cheaper than shave gels and creams.

another good one is olive oil with sugar or salt.  adding peppermint or vanilla (like extracts from McCormick or such) is an easy way to get the complete spa experience.

you can use sugar as a face scrub too -- great when traveling, use a packet and gently massage on damp skin -- the sugar dissolves with the use of additional water, preventing the overuse error...  you can do the same with salt as a body scrub, takes longer to dissolve so not recommended for face.

When you store a pre-made sugar based scrub, be sure to wipe clean the container.  Ants were attracted to the mixture but then again it was the summer when ants are more visiable and hungry!!!!
