I have worked from home for years and there are a lot of real jobs out there that are not scams.  There are phone and non-phone jobs.   Hirepoint.com was hiring customer service reps a few days ago.  The jobs go quickly so I don't know if they are still available.  Do not pay for any job!  I also do surveys, sweeps, coupons, and other things on line to make extra money.  If interested email me at Lindad4@cox.net

I've taken quite a few online surveys and have done product reviews. I don't make alot of cash, maybe about an extra $50 a week.  For now it's good because my kids are young and getting a 2nd job is too hard. I like getting free samples to try out.  They are usually new products that are being developed - chocolate, shampoo, spices,  All I have to do is write in what I like, hate, would I recommend, or multiple choice questions.  If you stick to the reputable companies you won't have any problems.http://surveyline.blogspot.com/

I am a lia sophia jewelry advisor.  I started in August, my husband was laid off from work all summer and it's still slow for him now.  With a minimal investment (not to mention being able to get all the jewelry I want for a deep discount) it was totally worth it for me.  I set my own hours around my children's schedules.  I do 1-2 parties a week and am able to provide postive income for our family!

Ive always liked the idea of those companies who send you things to do and pay you as you return them finished (assembly, paper products, etc), but have never actually come across any.
Do these still exist?  Where would I find some legitimate ones?  Heck, what search terms would I use to find some info myself?  (Im as good a googler as the next person...but I actually dont know what this type of business is called, and know babbling about sending and making and sending back for money wont fly if I actually want to get results  *grin*).I may forget to check back in here, but if anyone has ideas and the time to email, mine is  lilkye@yahoo.com

Be careful doing this!  A friend of mine had a son who started packaging and shipping for a company he found online.  The police showed up at his door and arrested him for dealing in stolen goods.  And, after he deposited his paycheck from this "company" they used his info to raid his account.  I would be very warry about trusting any online company with my banking info.  That being said, I do surveys and product testing for many different companies and make a little extra money.. along with the freebies I get to try.  Check out surveypolice.com to get a good idea about which companies are worth your time.

Maybe off the subject, but if you notice you're getting in a bind, budget. We've been poor college students, married, for 4 1/2 years now and we have over three more years left till the PhD is done. - and about to add our 3rd child in the picture. (And we have NO debt) We have kept track of where all our money goes and now we can accurally guess how much we will spend on food, clothes, car and gas, medical, dates, and extra spending money for the kids and each of us each month. (And of couse all the stable expences like rent, and other bills.) Then we ajust and put a $ amout to each catagory so that it adds up to costing us less then we make. That's budgeting.

Wink First you have to look around and see what you can do.  I started off by unplugging anything that I was not immediately using.  If it lights, blinks, heats or cools it costs electric.  Surprised Second I looked at all my immediate funds.  Then took a look at what I had coming in.SmileThird I looked at what I could get rid of.  I put it together and decided whether to put it on e-bay, or have a yard sale.  The better stuff I put on e-bay and did well.  The other stuff, mostly because I was relieving myself of clutter did well at the yard sale.

I sell on eBay and do online surveys for starters. I am an affiliate for Creative Scentsations, River Street Gourmet, and Teaporia also to make some extra income.

When I'm really in a bind I sell my gold & cash in loose change at Coinstar. I've never tried sending gold through the mail. I go to a jewelry store that pays really well. If you find pennies on the ground, pick them up. They really add up. I once had to buy my daughters school supplies with money I got from Coinstar. I watch afterschool chidren from 3-6 pm. And most importantly, I pay tithes. God truly rewards you when you put His kingdom first. Give & you'll find things coming back to you unexpectedly. If you don't have a credit card - good. Don't ever get one.
