This sounds yummy. I've tried a similar one before, but with a lot more calories, no doubt! Laughing

By Lyndy on 7/19/2009 12:32:14 PM

I didn't like this version as well as the original recipe (not low fat), however, some of you suggested to try it with artichoke hearts, which may be just what it needs.   I'll give it one more try!

SPINACH DIP IS A FAVORITE OF MINE BUT I HAVE NEVER MADE IT.  THIS LOOKS GOOD AND EASY.  AND THE IDEA OF THE CUKES, TOMATOES, PEPERS TO GO WITH IT SOUNDS EVEN BETTER.

By M on 7/10/2009 9:13:48 PM

I will definitely make this dip, it sounds so good.

By Stefanie on 7/10/2009 12:19:21 AM

this recipe is fantastic and for those of us watching our carbs it is great.  Instead of using chips to dip try cucumber slices, slices of green peppers...etc.  Thanks for the recipe

Spinach dip is always one of the first things to disappear at our family get togethers. It is enjoyed by all ages. I will have to make this for our next get together coming up in a couple weeks. I am sure it will do a great disappearing act. Yum! It is great served with fresh breads and crackers or even with veggies.

By Linda on 7/8/2009 8:30:33 AM

By Aimee on 7/7/2009 8:24:20 PM

Just an FYI that if you make this with Greek yogurt it will not be fat-free.  It sounds yummy tho and I am going to try it.

By Elise on 7/7/2009 7:54:28 PM

I like the idea of using Greek yogurt.

By CINDY on 7/7/2009 6:50:35 PM

My mom used to make "yogurt cheese" and I still do.  You put a coffee filter in a funnel, place the funnel in a container that will hold it up and hold the exess fluid. Pour the yogurt into the coffee filter that is in the funnel.  Place plastic wrap over the whole shabang and place in the fridge over night.  In the morning you have a thick, rich "cheese" that subs great for cream cheese or sour cream. If you want it less thick, strain it only an hour or so.

By Liz on 7/7/2009 4:25:35 PM

This looks scrumptious.

By Angela on 7/7/2009 3:51:01 PM

Im going to try it with some artichoke hearts added too.

By debbie on 7/7/2009 3:44:16 PM

im gonna try it with some artichoke hearts in it too.

By Debbie on 7/7/2009 3:41:51 PM

To Tammy,It's a dip, serving with raw veggies would be most healthy, but you could probably serve with  the traditional round loaf of bread made into a bowl.

By Lizbeth on 7/7/2009 3:29:14 PM

can't wait to try

By Lisa on 7/7/2009 2:51:23 PM

Corn ???   Not sure that fits into the ratio ....   Will try it.

By Sharon on 7/7/2009 2:37:39 PM

Sounds good but how is it served, like a side dish?

By Tammy on 7/7/2009 2:26:48 PM

I use greek yogurt, it's thicker and tastes great! I get it at the grocery store next to the regular yogurt, and at BJ's too.

By Michelle on 7/7/2009 2:13:48 PM

photo

Awesome thanks, I'll definitely try this then.  :)

By Tonia on 7/7/2009 2:12:42 PM

I use plain, non-fat yogurt to replace sour cream and mayo all the time.  I can even "trick" myself into thinking it is sour cream--on my tacos, as the sour cream in beef stroganoff! I've even put it on my baked potato.  It's not quite as rich as sour cream or mayo, but close enough.

By Kristin on 7/7/2009 2:02:38 PM

Nobody mentioned how it tastes using yogurt instead of mayonnaise.  Low fat sounds nice but how is the taste?
